TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

9:15 am – 9:30 am All Competitors line up in pre-staging area
9:30 am – 5:00 pm Poomsae (Open, Syncroniged  and Weapon Forms) / Kyorooogi (Sparring)
11:00 am – 12:00 pm World class division weigh in.

Competition Age: The age of an athlete will be determined by the birth year, not actual age on the day of the tournament. This is the World Taekwondo and USA Taekwondo standard.

Coaches: Coach Passes will be available the day of the tournament and are dependent on the number of participants per school that register for the tournament (One pass for every 10 students per school). Otherwise, it will be $25 per coach pass. Passes must be worn by all coaches on the gym floor. Coach Passes may be revoked at the discretion of the Tournament Director.

Coach’s Dress code: Coaches are prohibited from wearing jeans, shorts, tank-tops, hat/cap, or slippers while on the arena floor or coaching a competitor. Please follow the official USAT dress code for more details.

Spectators: All spectators (unless a designated VIP, Master, Referee, or Volunteer) must purchase an admission ticket and may not enter the arena floor at any time. Tickets will be available at the door the day of the tournament.

Competitors: All registrations must be received by March 1st, 2018.

All belts: 1 Event $80    2 Events $95    3 Events $105   4 Events $115   5 Events $125

General Admissions: Adult: $10    Children: $7   (5 Years Old & Under free)

Registration Deadline: Online Registration MUST be received by March 1st, 2018. Mail-In Entries must be received in Korean Martial Arts  Academy Office by or before Martc 1st, 2018.

Rules: Modified USA TKD rules will govern the competition(Except World class Division)

There is absolutely no head contact for competitors age 11 & under (All Color Belt Divisions).

Junior Safety Rules will apply to the 8 – 14 YEARS OLD BLACK BELT, 12 & OVER COLOR BELT, 33 & OVER BLACK BELT DIVISIONS. Any head contact producing a minor injury (bruising, abrasion, or bleeding) will result in a one-point deduction for the attacker. Excessive head contact resulting in the inability to continue will disqualify the attacker at the discretion of the referee.

Junior Safety Rules: No additional points will be awarded for any turning kick to the head (spin hook kicks, back kick, turning roundhouse kick, etc.).

Full head contact is allowed for 15 – 32 YEARS OLD BLACK BELTS ONLY with three points being awarded for legal head contact or 4 points for any contact from a spinning technique.

*Single elimination for free sparring

Tournament Director reserves the right to modify the duration number of rounds, and rest period.

WORLD CLASS SPARRING: Only choose one division (not both Junior and senior division)

Black Belts 15 – 17 years old 90 seconds 3 Rounds (Full Contact)
Black Belts 18 – 32 years old 90 seconds 3 Rounds (Full Contact)

*World Class Division will be refereed by WTF International Referees

Weigh-ins: 15-32 Black Belt World class sparring divisions only. From 11:30-12:30 pm at the tournament Area (Head Table).

Awards: The official awards section will be located at the far edge of the head table.

ALL competitors 12 years old and older: 1st, 2nd, and two 3rd place winners in each division will be awarded medals immediately following that division’s final match. ALL competitors 11 years old and under will receive medals.

Synchronize Poomsae: 1st, 2nd, and one 3rd place winners in each division will be awarded medals

Mandatory Equipment: Standard white, official, V-neck White TKD uniform (Sparring) in good condition.

  • Official USAT or WTF chest protector with red and blue scoring zones.
  • Official WTF Taekwondo shin protectors and forearm protectors.
  • Groin protector (required for males); must be worn inside the uniform.
  • Official USAT or WTF head protector and gloves (mandatory for World Class)
  • Official WTF Taekwondo mouth guard
  • Official WTF Taekwondo instep pads

** No writing or decorations are allowed on any sparring equipment

** No jewelry or accessories of any sort are allowed during competition

We also remind you that proper personal hygiene (e.g. clean, trimmed nails; clean body and uniform) is part of competition rules and etiquette.

PSS: The sparring division for 15-32 year old black belts will be using the DAEDO PSS System. Athletes in these age divisions are required to bring their own E-foot Protector (Gen1 required).

POOMSAE (Form): All WTF Sports Poomsae (World class division-12 years old and older black belts) competition will adhere to USAT rules. All Poomsae, Synchronized, Weapon and Open poomsae will be judged via scoring criteria.
