Dear Fellow Masters, Instructors and Staff,

I would like to extend my warmest greetings to all of you who have supported our martial arts activities in the past and to those of you who will be first-time participants. It gives me great pleasure invite you to participate in the 2008 Santa Cruz Open Tae Kwon Do Championship.

The Championship will be held at Aptos High School, Aptos, California on Saturday, April 5, 2008. This facility is located just south of the Santa Cruz beach and boardwalk, north of Monterey, and close to state parks. This time of year the weather is pleasant and we plan to complete the tournament by late afternoon so you may enjoy the area.

To encourage and motivate sportsmanship and the spirit of martial arts in our younger competitors, we will be awarding medals to all competitors. These tournaments are about gaining experience, developing confidence and a winning attitude that one will apply to other endeavors and appreciate over a lifetime. I hope that all our athletes will benefit from the experience, and with continuing practice of Tae Kwon Do, learn the true meaning of the martial arts. A portion of the proceeds will be donated for scholarships to Aptos High School.
