A Word from the Director
I would like to extend my warmest greetings to to all who have supported our martial arts activities in the past, and to welcome first time participants. It gives me great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 2009 Santa Cruz Open Tae Kwon Do Championship.
The Championship will be held at Pajaro Valley High School in Watsonville, California on Saturday, March 7, 2009. This facility is located just south of the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, north of Monterey, as well as Carmel Valley, and close to several state parks. This time of year, the weather is pleasant and we plan to complete the tournament by late afternoon, so that you may enjoy the area.
To encourage and motivate sportsmanship and the spirit of martial arts in our younger competitors, we will be awarding medals to all competitors. As a reminder, Tae Kwon Do tournaments are not about winning gold medals, these tournaments are about gaining experience, developing confidence, and building a winning attitude that will last a lifetime. I hope that all our athletes will learn from this experience, and with the continued practice of Tae Kwon Do, learn the true meaning of martial arts. A portion of the proceeds will be donated for scholarships to Pajaro Valley High School.
If you have any questions, please contact Korean Martial Arts Academy, Telephone (831) 476-5555,

I look forward to seeing you, your family, and friends in March for this memorable event.
Sincerely,
Grandmaster Sang Un Jin
Tournament Director
